Sally and John Robinson welcome you to their family farm at Old Byland, here you will share a friendly and informal atmosphere situated in the beautiful surroundings of North Yorkshire. The views from the six cottages are stunning and far reaching over the grazing sheep across the Moors. Expect friendly, affordable accommodation for the discerning guest - Sally will welcome you with tea, homemade cakes and the local paper (please bring your own slippers).
4 Star Self Catering Accommodation - Valley View Farm Cottages have been inspected and rated by the British Tourist Board Quality In Tourism.
Each cottage has been lovingly restored and equipped for both comfort and practicality.

There are cosy open fires in each cottage to enjoy and in the Summer, what better way to finish the day then by sitting and relaxing on the large patio area and reflecting on the days activities, whilst the sun dips down over the moors.
There is plenty of off road parking and pets are all made welcome at Valley View - there is the option of a kennel for your dog/s for days when you want to enjoy a days shopping in York. If you want to avoid the shops Tesco's will deliver, however all your shopping requirements can be met at the local market towns of Helmsley and Thirsk.

Father's Day is the 21st of June and Valley View Farm Cottages can offer special arrangements for your Father on Father's Day. We can arrange:
Old Byland is situated in the National Park and ideally placed for all activities,
here is just an example:
Walking: Superb walks and cycle paths around Sutton Bank and the surrounding area, and many varied walks are easily accessible. Old Byland is close to the Cleveland Way.
Sight seeing / Places of Interest: The City of York famous for the National Railway Museum, stately homes - Duncombe Park, Nunnington Hall and Castle Howard are all easily accessible. A visit to the 'Mouseman of Kilburn' the furniture legend combined with a drink or meal at the Forresters Arms Pub is highly recommended. Helmsley is five miles away and is the nearest local market town with all amenities and a great place to source locally produced food, you will also enjoy the pretty drive there. Locally you can enjoy fishing, scenic walks or just sit and enjoy the views as you relax at the cottages. Activities in the area include clay pigeon shooting at Felixkirk and gliding at the gliding club at Sutton Bank.
Racing: Spend a day at any of these local courses: York, Ripon, Wetherby, Thirsk and Catterick.
Real Ale: There are a great selection of micro breweries across North Yorkshire - the Black Sheep Brewery at Masham, is probably the most famous and is a great day out.
